Within the extensive Rivnenskyi Nature Reserve, project actions are focused on a selected section of the Perebrody massif. This area forms a vital conservation center for Jurinea cyanoides. The species is restricted to open pine sands and limestone outcrops embedded in pine forests, covering a total area of 0,25 ha.

Rivnenskyi Nature Reserve Jurinea cyanoides

The local population is relatively small, diffuse, and exhibits low overall vitality, with only 12 flowering individuals recorded alongside mostly non-flowering and older rosettes. Due to limited natural self-regeneration, regular monitoring studies are essential to track population trends and guide conservation efforts.

Threats to the Site

The main ecological threats facing the site are climate-induced drought and natural forest succession, as the germination of young trees and shrubs gradually reduces open sandy habitats.

Site Management

Planned project actions include evaluating genetic diversity, monitoring population dynamics, assessing habitat quality and tracking local pollinator activity. In addition, citizen science campaigns will be conducted alongside the preparation of a dedicated species management plan.
